The best laugh now cry later tattoo choice depends on whether you want the exact phrase, a realistic temporary design, or a way to test placement before committing to permanent ink. Tinsley Transfers offers a ready-made “Now & Later” effect, while S&M Art Store and ubjva offer custom text options that may suit shoppers seeking the full phrase. The other picks provide alternative lettering or quote-style designs, but may not include the exact wording.

Tinsley Transfers Now & Later FX Tattoo
Best for: Women who want a ready-made, realistic-looking “Now & Later” design for a costume, event, or temporary style trial. The listing describes a movie-quality effect, realistic design, and easy application. Its black-and-white presentation may suit someone seeking a dramatic tattoo look without choosing a custom design.
This product is the closest ready-made option in the list to the “laugh now cry later” concept. However, the product name says “Now & Later,” so shoppers who require the complete phrase should check the design carefully before ordering. The provided features do not state how long it lasts or give a specific size.
S&M Art Store Custom Text Tattoo
Best for: Buyers who want to request personalized text in a chosen style. The listing offers custom temporary tattoos in a variety of styles, with a two-inch length. That makes this a relevant option for someone seeking to display the exact “laugh now cry later” wording rather than settle for a similar phrase.
The maker states that the tattoo is water-resistant and may last upward of a week, sometimes longer when placed away from high-friction areas. The listing also says the tattoos are made in America and that China-sourced material is not used. A limitation is the stated two-inch length, which may not suit shoppers wanting a large, highly visible design.
ubjva Personalized Text Temporary Tattoos
Best for: Shoppers who want to submit custom text or a photo and choose from several sheet-size options. The listing says buyers may provide information such as a name, text, or age, depending on the selected style. Listed sizes range from 1.2-inch sheets to 2.4-inch sheets, with the number of sheets varying by size.
This custom route can work for women who want the full phrase rendered in a specific design, provided the selected style supports their request. The product is described as waterproof and sweat-resistant and uses water application. A key consideration is that the buyer needs to provide the required customization details; the supplied features do not specify how long the tattoo lasts.
Pixel Hearts Sassy Script Tattoos
Best for: Women who like bold gothic lettering mixed with script and want to experiment with temporary word tattoos. The listed designs include words such as “Angel,” “Brat,” “Princess,” “Babygirl,” and “Diva.” The package includes two of each design, so the wearer can try a design more than once.
The listing describes realistic-looking prints made with plant-based ink and a waterproof style. This is a style-focused alternative rather than a confirmed source for the phrase “laugh now cry later.” Choose it if the lettering aesthetic matters more than the exact wording; avoid it if the full phrase is essential, because that wording is not among the listed examples.
TASROI Black Quote Tattoo Sheets
Best for: Buyers who want a broad assortment of black quote, word, and symbol tattoos to explore placement and overall appearance. The listing includes 18 sheets and describes designs such as words, birds, crosses, hearts, infinity symbols, and other graphic motifs. It also states that the tattoos may last four to eight days.
This variety pack may suit someone who is still deciding on a tattoo’s scale or placement, but the product description does not confirm that the exact “laugh now cry later” phrase is included. Check the sheet designs before buying if the wording is non-negotiable. The listing describes a wide selection, so the specific design you want may not be available in the pack.
Buying Guide: How to Choose a Laugh Now Cry Later Tattoo
Do you need the exact phrase?
Start by deciding whether a similar “Now & Later” design is enough or whether you want the complete phrase. Tinsley Transfers is a ready-made option with related wording. Custom text listings are more relevant when exact wording matters, but review the ordering instructions and confirm that the chosen style allows the full phrase.
Which lettering style and size suit your plan?
Consider whether you prefer gothic lettering, script, or a cinematic effect. Also check the listed dimensions: S&M Art Store specifies a two-inch length, while ubjva lists multiple sheet sizes. A smaller temporary design can be useful for testing a discreet placement; larger artwork may be easier to read from a distance, depending on its layout.
How long should a temporary tattoo last?
Only rely on durability details stated for the specific product. S&M Art Store says its tattoos can last upward of a week, especially away from high-friction areas. TASROI lists four to eight days. The other product details here do not provide a duration, so avoid assuming that all options last equally long.
What should you check before ordering?
- Confirm the printed wording, especially if you need the complete phrase.
- Review the design, dimensions, sheet count, and application instructions.
- For personalized products, provide the requested text or other customization details.
- Consider water resistance and placement; friction can affect how long some temporary tattoos remain visible.
